The weird side of hardcore. "Egg Punk" is a modern sub-genre that embraces the quirky, satirical, and lo-fi elements of bands like Devo, mixed with the blistering speed of hardcore punk. Our Egg Punk instrumentals are fast, frantic, and fun. We use cheap-sounding synthesizers to play rapid-fire leads that double the guitar riffs. The recording quality is intentionally lo-fi, with tape saturation and compressed drums that sound like they are being played in a tin can.
The riffs are jerky and staccato, often moving in unexpected directions. It is music that feels like a cartoon on fast-forward. Despite the "silly" aesthetic, the musicianship is tight and technical. The tempos are extremely fast, requiring precision from all instruments.
For vocalists, Egg Punk allows you to get weird. High-pitched yelps, robotic deliveries, and heavily effected vocals (delay, distortion) are all common. The lyrics are often cynical, satirical, or nonsensical. It is a genre that doesn't take itself too seriously, which allows for total creative freedom.
For content creators, Egg Punk is a secret weapon for comedy and chaotic editing. It fits perfectly with fast-cut montages, "internet humor" videos, meme content, or anything that is chaotic and high-energy. It adds a layer of absurdity and fun that standard punk or rock cannot match.
