Filthy, dark, and metallic. Crust Punk (or "Stenchcore") sits at the intersection of Anarcho-Punk and Extreme Metal. It takes the politics and D-Beat drumming of punk and adds the dark atmosphere and heaviness of metal. Our Crust Punk instrumentals are defined by their tone: thick, muddy, and distorted. We use heavy distortion on the bass guitar to create a rumbling low-end that fills the sonic spectrum.
The drums are relentless, usually locked into a fast D-Beat or a rolling, tribal pattern. The guitars are down-tuned and often drenched in reverb or delay to create a dark, apocalyptic atmosphere. We blend fast, thrashing sections with slow, sludge-like breakdowns, creating a dynamic listening experience that is both exhausting and exhilarating. It is the sound of urban decay and societal collapse.
For vocalists, this genre requires power. Whether you use a deep, guttural growl or a high-pitched shriek, you need to be able to compete with the wall of noise. The music is dense and heavy, so your vocals need to cut through. Lyrical themes of doom, war, and survival fit perfectly.
For video creators, Crust Punk creates an instant atmosphere of grime and danger. It is perfect for post-apocalyptic settings, horror movies, or content exploring the darker side of urban life. It is extreme music for extreme visuals.
