About This Event
🎶 Join us for an unforgettable evening at Songwriters in Conversation #5 featuring the incredible talents of Nathy SG and Gelfling! 🌟
Have you ever wondered what makes a love song truly resonate? Is it the same magic that captivated audiences of Motown and Tin Pan Alley? Dive deep into the heart of songwriting as we explore the balance between genuine emotions and the irresistible allure of catchy melodies. Plus, discover how social and political influences shape our expressions of love today!
Hosted by the talented Groundbird (the songwriting alter ego of Richard O'Brien from Northumbria University), this is the fifth installment of our series where North East's finest musicians share their insights on the art of songwriting.
- Nathy SG: A multi-instrumentalist and a pivotal figure in the UK DIY punk and indie-pop scenes since the early 2000s. Known for his work with the acclaimed power-pop band Martha and as a founding member of the anarchist punk band Onsind and indie-rock band Fortitude Valley.
- Gelfling: The enchanting folk project by Durham's own Elf Snudge, who weaves tales of magic, mental health, and nature that will evoke both laughter and tears.
🕔 Doors open at 5 PM, with a special opening song from Groundbird at 5:15 PM. Catch Gelfling at 5:30 PM and Nathy SG at 6:15 PM, followed by a captivating Q&A session starting at 7 PM.
